Make : Mauser 71/84 bayonet.

Description: A good plated ‘Dress’ Mauser 71/84 bayonet by Solingen. Grip with rivet retained wooden scales has release catch to the right side of the pommel and cross guard with muzzle ring to the front. Plated fullered blade with Solingen knights head trade mark stamped to the right side. In its original steel mounted black leather scabbard, the chape and throat with traces of original plate. Made to the regulation pattern to fit the Mauser 71/84 service rifle or the later 1888 commission rifle these scarce dress or parade bayonets have highly polished plated blades intended for use at parades and military displays etc. In very good condition with fine blade retaining 95%+ finish with approx 50% to the grip and cross guard, nice sharp grip scales and a good scabbard with all intact stitching. A nice example of the scarce dress variant of the already rarely seen 71/84 bayonet.
